Native HTML reference
The markup-refine-lib/base entry refines native elements only inside adata-mr scope. This page summarizes that semantic surface so consumers do not need to inspect the CSS to discover which elements receive defaults.
| Category | Native elements / states | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Document structure | body, main, p, footer, hr | Scoped spacing, surfaces, and typography. |
| Headings | h1–h6 | Semantic hierarchy is unchanged; CSS only supplies type/spacing. |
| Links | a, hover/focus/visited | Uses the public link color tokens. |
| Lists | ul, ol | Native list semantics and markers remain intact. |
| Disclosures | details, summary, details[open] | Native disclosure state remains the source of truth. |
| Forms | form, fieldset, label, input, select, textarea, native buttons | Includes disabled/focus, checkbox/radio, and file-selector presentation. |
| Tables | table, thead, tbody, tr, th, td, caption | Small-screen cells may expose authored data-label text. |
| Code/text | pre, code, blockquote, kbd, small, sub, sup | No JavaScript is required. |
| Images/figures | img, figure, figcaption | Images remain responsive to the available inline size. |
| Embedded/media | iframe, audio, video, map | Basic block sizing/presentation only. |
Scope boundary
data-mr-unstyled stops semantic styling for a subtree; a nesteddata-mr explicitly re-enters the Markup Refine scope. SeeScoped semantic HTML for the isolation contract.
